To cure body acne you need different treatments than for face acne.
Most people associate acne with the face, but that is not the only place you can find acne. Acne can also occur on the back, chest, neck, and elsewhere on the body.
If you suffer from body acne, you need to know that the treatments for facial acne are not necessarily the best treatments for acne on your back, chest, neck or other areas of your body. Body acne often involves a unique skin germ called pityrosporum, which requires pyrithione zinc for treatment. Body skin is also thicker than face skin so you need different products to treat acne on your body.
Follow my four-step daily treatment for body acne and be on your way to clearer skin.
Steps One and Two: Cleanse and Correct
Skin cleansers are the best products for treating body acne for logistical reasons. That means that in a Complete Skin Care Routine you combine steps 1 and 2 by using powerful products that leave correcting ingredients on the skin after rinsing.
To treat acne on your back, chest, neck, or other area of your body, you must first clean the affected area. Use my Foaming Benzoyl Peroxide Treatment Cleanser (with 10% benzoyl peroxide); however, if you are allergic to benzoyl peroxide, you can effectively clean the area with my Glytone Exfoliating Body Wash or my Foaming Zinc Cleanser.
Increase the effectiveness of your cleanser by using a Salux Wash Cloth when washing or a Clarisonic Brush System designed for use on the body.
To best treat the yeast germ pityrosporum, which is the major cause of most body acne – especially back and chest acne – you need to use a cleanser that contains the non-prescription medicine zinc pyrithione. My Foaming Zinc Cleanser contains 2% zinc pyrithione, so be sure to add it to your body acne treatment.
You can save money on your overall body acne treatment by purchasing my Back and Body Acne Kit, which includes my Foaming Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Treatment Cleanser, my Foaming Zinc Cleanser, and a Salux Wash Cloth.
Step Three: Hydrate
If you have dry skin, applying my Daily Moisturizing Face Cream for Oily to Normal Skin after cleansing and toweling skin dry. If you have oily skin, your own oil glands may moisturize your skin enough meaning that you do not need to moisturize with a product.
Step Four: Protect
It is important to protect your skin from skin damage. Not only can the sun cause hyperpigmentation of acne scars, but it can also cause skin cancer. Protect your skin by using one of the following mineral zinc sunscreens:
Sheer Strength Pure Physical Spray Sunscreen
