Suncreen for the Body

Body, arm and leg skin shows signs of premature aging due to sun exposure. Even small amounts of regular UV exposure will cause crepey skin, thin skin, easy bruising (actinic purpura), uneven skin pigment, sun spots and the other skin changes that most people associate with aging.

Protect your body, arm and leg skin every day to prevent premature aging.

As a dermatologist, I recommend that you wear broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen on exposed skin every day – all day all year, no matter where on the earth you are!

Use sun protective clothing to shrink the area of exposed skin that needs sunscreen, then apply sunscreen to what you can’t cover.

Remember, you need to reapply sunscreen, after

  • bathing or washing your skin,
  • swimming,
  • toweling off,
  • sweating,
  • and every 2 hours during prolonged exposure.

It’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it.

Daily sun protection is the best way to prevent thin arm skin that tears easily (atrophy), sun spots on your hands, Poikiloderma of Civatte (uneven red and brown pigment on the sides of the neck), and crepey skin everywhere.

These sunscreens are dermatologist recommended, broad spectrum, SPF 30+ and most are water resistant to 40 or 80 minutes.
