What Do You Need to do to Get Healthy Feet for Spring?
Answer: The Right Tools!
The right tools to spring clean your feet are the magic combination of physical and chemical exfoliation. You can't just file off all that thick skin. You've probably tried and have been disappointed with the results. You need to loosen and soften the thick skin first. Think of it like other situations where you have tried to remove a tough scum or buildup on something with just a scrubber; you almost always resorted to some sort of chemical to soften or break up the stubborn spot. The same concept applies to your feet as well. You will only get so far to reclaiming your soft feet with a foot file or pumice stone. Try adding chemical exfoliation. Dr. Bailey uses Glytone Heel and Elbow Cream. This strong glycolic acid product, with a free acid value of 30, is capable of really softening your thick soles. (It is important to not use this cream on any other part of your body because it is so strong it can irritate the skin.) This is a very popular product at the office and it flies off the shelves as we approach warmer weather. Dr. Bailey loves having the best tools for a job. Her physical sanding tools that she included in her Rough Skin Foot Kit are loved by all of us here. They are the very affordable and highly effective Professional Foot File and Pumice Buffing Pad - the perfect companion sanding "equipment" to remove all that softened thick skin after you use the Glytone Heel Cream.
Dr. Bailey's Steps for Spring Ready Feet
Dr. Bailey's spring ready healthy feet routine may take a few weeks to a couple months, depending on the level of calluses and tough skin on your feet. If at any time irritation develops, stop the process and allow your skin to heal before restarting. Dr. Bailey's turn-key Rough Feet Skin Remover Kit has everything you need to complete the steps below. 1. Soak your feet in warm water for 10-15 minutes. 2. Physically exfoliate your feet while wet. Use a foot file and pumice stone to remove and buff your tough skin. 3. Apply the Glytone Heel and Elbow Cream to your wet and freshly filed feet. You still want to towel dry your feet and dust off any dead skin, but leave your skin damp. Be generous where the skin is thickest, and even apply to your toes and nails, if necessary. Put on a clean pair of cotton socks and wear them for the next 8 hours. This is a perfect bed time routine so the procedure is working while you sleep. Repeat daily or weekly until your feet are soft and sandal ready. 4. Maintain your new smooth and soft feet. A milder version of Dr. Bailey's foot kit may be sufficient: the Anti Aging Body Skin Care Kit. This kit includes instructions and can be used in the shower for your entire body, including your feet. Also you can maintain the moisture with rich and hydrating creams such as Dr. Bailey's All Natural Body Butter Cream. Apply to your wet feet after a shower and then put on cotton socks for a few hours. There is no need to hide your feet this spring. Dr. Bailey's tools can have them soft and smooth in no time.
