Is It Good To Unplug From The Internet Occasionally?

Cynthia Bailey, MD|December 5, 2012

AustraliaI'm just back from 2 fantastic weeks visiting a close and dear friend in Australia. One of the many surprises was that I had no internet connectivity!  This turned out to be a good thing because the R&R I came home with felt like I had a mini-life in an alternate universe!  Wow, it's quite amazing actually. I've always found ways to get on the internet when I travel, but on this trip the timing really did not work...... and it was just the thing I needed.  It reset me, at least for a while.  I realized how many things I do all at once here at home, and just what that does to my psyche. I love the web, social media, and writing, and I'm glad to be "plugged in" again to a world that I find so interesting.  I am, however, going to explore doing fewer things all at once to simplify.   I thought it would be fun to share a few pictures of wonderful and exotic Australia.  It's a wondrous country!  It's quite amazing to travel from stormy fall in Coastal Northern California (power failures, hurricane forced winds etc.) to a beautiful spring on the other side of globe. Dingo on Fraser Island Kangaroos in Hervey Bay Carcass of the Maheno Shipwreck on Fraser Island Stunning poinciana trees were just coming into bloom

Cheers mates, and happy holidays to everyone!
