Soft and Smooth Feet for Sandal Weather: Find It Again Friday

Soft and Smooth FeetDo you have rough, thick skin on your heels that may be cracking?

Are you too embarrassed to wear sandals because of the condition of your feet?

Do you want to know how to get soft and smooth feet?

I’m already starting to break out my sandals during these warm late-spring and early-summer days. However, when I look down at my feet, I realize my feet are rough, callused, and definitely not sandal ready.  I know just how to tackle this issue thanks to Dr. Bailey tips in a previous blog post: Dermatologist’s 3 Simple Steps for Soft, Sandal-Ready Feet by Spring.

Dr. Bailey emphasizes the key to soft and smooth feet is powerful exfoliation. As she says:

You need CHEMICAL EXFOLIATION AND PHYSICAL EXFOLIATION to get your feet back into sandal-ready shape.

Exfoliation Overview for Soft and Smooth Feet

Chemical Exfoliation:Dermatologist Recommended AHA glycolic acid products for rough feet

    • Strong exfoliating skin care products that soften and dissolve rough skin. Dr. Bailey prefers AHA’s such as glycolic acid.
    • Dr. Bailey’s favorite chemical exfoliator is Glytone Heel and Elbow Cream.

Physical Exfoliation:

Dr. Bailey’s 3 Steps for Soft and Smooth Feet

  1. Soak your feet in warm water or a shower for 10-15 minutes.
  2. While your feet are wet, physically exfoliate your feet with a foot file or pumice stone. Be careful to not hurt your feet during this step.
  3. Apply Glytone Heel and Elbow Cream to your damp feet after toweling your feet off to dry. Be more liberal with the cream where the skin is thicker, even the toes and nail beds as needed. Wear a clean pair of socks over your treated feet for at least 8 hours.

To make life even easier, Dr. Bailey has put all the necessary components for soft and smooth feet in her Rough Skin Remover Kit. It includes two physical exfoliators (professional foot file and pumice pad) and the chemical exfoliator Glytone Heel and Elbow Cream.

How long does Dr Bailey’s soft and smooth feet process take to work?

It depends on the thickness of the skin and calluses on your heels. It could take anywhere from one week to several months. If you experience any irritation from the treatment, allow your skin to heal before resuming.

Maintenance is also important once you achieve soft and smooth feet. Repeat the process at any interval that maintains your soft and smooth feet. Also, many of Dr. Bailey’s patients switch to Dr. Bailey’s Anti-Aging Body Skin Care Kit to upkeep their smooth feet as well as treat the rest of their body during bathing.

With 3 simple steps, you can have soft and smooth feet just in time for sandal weather or your summer vacation to an exotic locale.  If you would like to read Dr. Bailey’s original in depth blog, click here.

*Please Note: Caution Message from Dr Bailey*

Glytone Heel and Elbow Cream is a 30% glycolic acid cream and is REALLY strong.  If used in any manner other than what we’ve stated above it WILL be too strong and irritate/burn your skin. It works beautifully for thick skin on the feet, but even though Glytone markets it for elbows, only the thickest, roughest elbows need this strong glycolic acid product.

Great…To get healthy foot, you need to wear foot-wears that allow the feet to breathe and washing of the feet with soap and water regularly.
